When the route starts, you can automate the sending of a notification to the customers to be visited, with a link allowing them to track in real time on a map the progress of the driver. In order to set up the notifications allowing customers to track the driver’s progress, just follow the steps below:
💡 To send notifications to your customers, you must have entered the email address and/or phone number in international format in the customer record. For example, +44 7600 123456.
Set up the notification template
- Go to the “Settings” module.
- Click on the “Notifications” tab.
- Click on “Notification templates”.
- Click on the button “Add”.
- Select the media “Text message” or “email”.
- Select the type “Automatic notification when the route starts”.
- Determine the name for interne use. For example, “Notification with tracking link”.
- Set the toggle on “Enabled”.
- Click on the AntsRoute icon to custom the message content.
- Add the variable “Delivery tracking link”.
- Click on the “Save” button.
Set up the tracking link
- Go to the “Settings” module.
- Click on the “Notifications” tab.
- Click on “Tracking link”.
- Set the “Link validity period” in days.
- Add a “Title” for the page.
- Add a “Quick description” which is displayed below the title.
- Click on the “Save” button.
☝️ Good to know: On the right-hand side of the screen, you can access an overview of the tracking link.

☝️ Good to know: You can allow your customers to download reports directly from the tracking link. To do this, in the “Downloading of reports” section, simply check the “Downloadable” box for the reports concerned. To learn more about setting up reports, read this support article.
