AntsRoute allows you to duplicate one or more routes in just a few clicks. This feature is especially useful for repeating regular routes or easily managing replacements when an agent is absent.
You can duplicate a route:
- to another date
- across multiple days
- over a specific period
💡 Before you start:
- A route cannot be duplicated for the current day if a route has already started.
- Duplicated routes keep the same constraints as the original route (working hours, breaks, opening hours).
- If the “Define route names” option is enabled, duplication is based on the route name, not the agent.

Special case: duplicating named routes
If you use named routes, duplication works slightly differently:
- Duplication is based on the route name
- The route may be assigned to a different agent depending on the day
- If no route with the same name exists on the target date, AntsRoute assigns it to the same agent as the original route
This makes it easier to manage recurring routes, even when agents change.
Example:
To better understand how this works, here is an example.
You have two agents: Agent 1 and Agent 2. The recurring routes Route A and Route B are not always assigned to the same agents.
Initial situation
| 03/20 | 03/21 | 03/22 | |
| Agent 1 | Route A | Route B | No route |
| Agent 2 | Route B | No route | No route |
If you duplicate Route B from 03/20 to 03/21 and 03/22, you will get:
Result after duplication
| 03/20 | 03/21 | 03/22 | |
| Agent 1 | Route A | Route B | No route |
| Agent 2 | Route B | No route | Route B |
On 03/21, Route B already exists, so it is updated.
On 03/22, Route B does not exist, so AntsRoute assigns it to the same agent as the original route. In this case, Agent 2.
💡 Tip:
To duplicate a route to a single date:
- Open the date picker
- Click twice on the same date
Conclusion
Duplicating routes helps you save time by avoiding the need to recreate similar schedules.
Whether you duplicate one route or several, you can quickly adapt your planning to your needs.
