The capacities make it possible to manage numerical constraints between the vehicles and the field service operations or deliveries to complete. Here are some examples: volume in m3, a weight in kg, a number of pallets or a number of packages. For example, when the vehicle has a maximum capacity of 300 kg, by determining its capacity in the settings, it ensures that this weight is not exceeded when optimising routes.
Create new capacities
- Go to the 'Settings' module.
- Click on the tab 'Capacities' in the side menu.
- Click on the button 'Add' at the top right.
- Determine the 'Name' (ex. Weight), the 'Unit' (ex. Kg), the validation mode (optional or required).
- Click on the button 'Save'.
Define the capacity of vehicles
After adding capacities, it is necessary to define the capacity for each of the vehicles.
- Go to the 'Resources' module.
- Click on the tab 'Vehicles'.
- Click on '…' and 'Edit'.
- Enter a positive integer for each of the capacities.
- Click on the button 'Save'.
Define the quantity to be transported to complete a field service operation
In the field service operation (delivery, pickup or visit) scheduling form
If a certain quantity of goods is to be delivered or used for a customer, it is necessary to define this quantity in the 'Capacities' box of the field service scheduling form.
In the import file
The quantities to be transported for each customer can also be defined in the import file. It is sufficient to add a Cap_XXX column in this file, with XXX corresponding to the name of one of the capacities defined in the 'Capacities' tab. For example, Cap_Weight. Then, you just need to indicate in the cells of this column the quantity to be delivered/used for each field service operation.
