AntsRoute allows you to track your drivers in real time using geolocation.
Once enabled:
- You can view drivers’ positions in the “Map” tab of the “Monitor” module.
- You can review the actual routes completed in the “Route report” tab of the “Analyse” module.
To use this feature, three actions are required:
- Enable geolocation from the AntsRoute interface
- Allow geolocation in the mobile application
- Allow location access in the smartphone settings
Step 1: Enable Geolocation from the AntsRoute Interface
First, you must enable the option from your administrator account.
- Go to the “Settings” module.
- From “Settings”, click on “Mobile application”.
- Activate the option “Enable real-time geolocation of drivers”.
- Click “Save”.
Once this option is enabled, your drivers can allow tracking from their mobile application.
Step 2: Allow Geolocation in the Mobile Application
Each driver must activate geolocation from the AntsRoute mobile app.
- Open the mobile application.
- Tap the menu in the top left corner.
- Select “Settings”.
- Enable the option “Real time geolocation”.
💡 Important:
Geolocation starts when the driver taps “Start” or “Continue” on a route.
It stops when they tap “Finish” or close the application.
Step 3: Allow Geolocation in the Smartphone Settings
Even if the option is enabled in AntsRoute, the phone must also allow access to location services.
📱 On iPhone (iOS):
- Open “Settings”.
- Tap “Privacy & Security”.
- Select “Location Services”.
- Choose “AntsRoute”.
- Select the option “Always”.
💡 We recommend selecting “Always” so that location tracking continues when the application runs in the background (for example, when using a navigation app or sending messages).
💡 If the driver uses a personal phone, they can disable this permission outside working hours.
📱 On Android:
- Open “Settings”.
- Tap “Location”.
- Enable “Location access”.
- Click on “App access to location”.
- Choose “AntsRoute”.
- Select “Allow all the time”.
💡 The “Allow all the time” option ensures tracking continues when the application runs in the background.
💡 As with iPhone, drivers can disable this access when they are not on duty.
☝️ Good to Know:
Once these three steps are completed:
- You can view your drivers’ GPS positions in the “Monitor” module.
- You can analyse the actual routes completed in the “Analyse” module.
Conclusion
Real-time geolocation helps you manage your field operations more effectively.
You gain better visibility, respond more quickly to unexpected events, and improve service quality.
If a driver’s position is not displayed, first check:
- That the option is enabled in AntsRoute settings
- That the driver has started their route
- That the “Always” permission is enabled on their smartphone
