If driver geolocation is enabled, AntsRoute allows you to view on a map the actual route taken by a driver, compared with the route that was originally planned.
How to access a driver’s actual route
- Open AntsRoute and go to the Analyse module.
- Select the Route report tab.
- Choose a date from the calendar to display the routes for that day.
- Click on the driver’s name whose route you want to view.
☝️ Important: If the geolocation icon appears next to the distance travelled, this means GPS tracking was correctly enabled for that route.
Understanding the map display
Once the route is displayed:
- The dotted line represents the initially planned route.
- The solid line shows the route actually driven by the driver.
This visual comparison makes it easy to see the difference between what was planned and what really happened on the road, and to quickly identify:
- detours that were taken,
- areas that were not originally planned,
- differences in distance or travel time between the plan and reality.
☝️ Additional information to know:
- The actual route depends on the quality of the GPS signal on the driver’s smartphone.
- If geolocation is disabled or if the app is not used during the route, the actual route cannot be displayed.
- The data is available after the route has been completed.
