In AntsRoute, product types help you better organize your deliveries and collections. By defining your own products (for example: Organic, Conventional, Diesel, etc.), you can accurately specify the quantities to transport.
These quantities are directly linked to the unit defined in the Capacities tab, ensuring consistent planning tailored to your resources.
☝️ Note: Product type management is a feature available upon request. To access it, please contact support.
1. Add a product type
To get started, you need to create the products you want to track in your routes.
Steps to follow:
- Go to Settings
- Click on the Product types tab
- Enter the product name
- Press the Enter key to confirm
Note: The product name cannot exceed 50 characters
⚠️ Important: If you haven’t done so yet, go to Settings > Capacities to define your capacity (for example: Liters with the unit L).
2. Configure vehicle compartments
You can organize your vehicle loading by creating compartments. Each compartment can be dedicated to specific product types with a defined capacity.
Steps to follow:
- Go to Resources
- Click on Vehicles
- Open a vehicle sheet via … > Edit
- Click on Add a compartment
- Enter the compartment quantity
- Select the accepted products
- Add more compartments if needed
- Click Save
Notes:
- The quantity corresponds to the unit defined in Capacities (e.g., liters)
- You can remove a compartment at any time using the delete icon
3. Specify products during planning
When planning a collection or a delivery, you can specify exactly which product is being collected or delivered, along with its quantity.
⚠️ Important: When you add products during planning, only fixed-date delivery is available. The scoring feature (availability search) cannot be used.
Steps to follow:
- Go to the Plan module
- Click on the Add pickups tab
- Select the product type to collect
- Enter the quantity to collect
- Complete the remaining fields to finalize the planning
Notes:
- A pickup can contain only one product type
- When importing a file, you can add a column with the product name as the header. Each cell in this column must contain the quantity to collect.
Conclusion
Managing product types in AntsRoute helps you structure your operations efficiently and optimize vehicle loading. By combining products, capacities, and compartments, you gain accuracy and efficiency when planning your routes.
