If some jobs need to be scheduled before others, you can assign them a high priority using service types.
When optimizing your schedule, the algorithm will then prioritize these jobs.
💡 This feature requires the use of service types.
⚠️ Important: For the priority defined in your service types to be taken into account during optimization, the job prioritization criterion must be set to Service type in the optimization settings.
Good to know: If all your jobs can be scheduled on the selected date, their priority level will not affect the optimization results.
Select service type as the prioritization criterion
Before setting the priority of your service types, make sure the correct prioritization criterion is selected:
- Go to the Settings module.
- Click the Optimization tab.
- Find the Prioritization criterion for deliveries field.
- Select Service type.
- Click Save.
The priority defined in your service types will now be taken into account when optimizing your schedule.
Create a priority service type
Then, create a service type and assign it a high priority:
- Go to the Settings module.
- Click the Types of service tab.
- Click the + button in the top-right corner.
- Enter a Name, for example, “Priority job”.
- Enter the Location of delivery.
- Enter the job Duration in minutes.
- In the Priority field, select High.
- Complete the other fields if necessary.
- Click Save.
Assign a high priority to a job
When adding or editing a job, simply select the service type you just created in the Service type field.
The job will then be given the priority associated with this service type when the schedule is optimized.
💡 Do you import your jobs? Priorities defined using service types can also be applied to imported jobs.
