Introduction
A service type corresponds to a type of delivery or service that your company offers.
By creating service types in AntsRoute, you make operational planning easier and more standardised.
When you add a delivery or work order, certain fields (such as duration, required skills, or time slots) can be automatically pre-filled based on the selected service type.
This saves you time and reduces errors linked to manual data entry.
☝️ Good to know: If needed, the duration and required skills for an order with a selected service type can still be adjusted during scheduling.
Notes: When scheduling a delivery or an intervention, it is possible to select multiple types of services for the same task. To learn more about how multiple service types work, see this support article.

Good to know
- Once your service types have been created, you can select them directly when adding an order.
- You can also include these service types in your Excel import files by entering their name in the Type of service column.
- Using service types also makes it possible to prioritise the scheduling of work orders by indicating to the optimisation algorithm which orders should be treated first.
