When planning your routes, you will likely want to distribute jobs fairly between your drivers or field agents.
A good balance helps prevent some team members from having overloaded days while others have lighter schedules. It also improves team motivation, reduces overtime, and makes day-to-day organisation easier.
By default, AntsRoute optimises routes by filling the first agent’s schedule first, then the second, and so on.
In practice, this means one agent may end up with a very busy day while another still has availability.
If you would like to distribute jobs more evenly between your agents, you can enable the route balancing option.
How to enable route balancing
Follow these steps:
- Click on “Settings”.
- In the side menu, under “Settings”, click on “Optimisation”.
- Enable the option “Enable route balancing”.
- Click “Save” to confirm your changes.
The option is now enabled. During your next optimisation, jobs will be distributed more evenly between your available agents.
When should you use this option?
We recommend enabling route balancing if:
- You want to distribute the number of jobs fairly.
- You notice significant workload differences between your agents.
- You are looking to improve working conditions and team motivation.
Key takeaway
The route balancing option allows you to distribute the workload more evenly between your drivers or field agents.
In just a few clicks, you can create a more balanced and smoother organisation for your team.
If needed, you can disable this option at any time by following the same path in the settings.
