Create and configure a vehicle

To plan your routes efficiently, it’s essential to properly configure your vehicles.

In just a few steps, you can add a vehicle, define its characteristics (type, parking location), and specify its constraints (capacities, skills, costs).

A complete configuration helps you generate more realistic routes that are better suited to your operations.

In this article, you’ll learn how to:

• create a vehicle
• configure it according to your needs
• edit it at any time

Before you start

Before adding a vehicle, make sure of the following:

• A license is required to create a vehicle
  👉 To check: click the blue circle in the top right corner > My subscription

Add a vehicle

Follow these steps to create a new vehicle:

1. Go to the Resources module
2. Click on the Vehicles tab
3. Click + (Add) in the top right corner
4. Enter general information
   Fill in the following fields:
   • Vehicle name (e.g., Truck 1, Lyon Vehicle…)
   • Registration number (License plate)
   • Kilometers (indicative)
   • Maximum kilometers per route
   • Metadata (optional – free text field)
   • License: select an available license
5. Configure the vehicle
   Fill in the following fields:
   • Vehicle type: choose the type that fits your activity
   • CO₂ emissions
6. Set the parking location:
   • either an existing site
   • or a custom address
7. Click Save to complete the vehicle creation.

Define advanced settings (optional)

Capacities:

Capacities allow you to manage constraints between your vehicles and your deliveries.

Examples:

• volume (m³)
• weight (kg)
• number of parcels or pallets

Example:
If a vehicle has a capacity of 12 m³, routes will not exceed this volume.

You can:

• select existing capacities
• or create new ones directly when adding the vehicle

Skills:

Skills allow you to assign a vehicle to specific types of missions.

Examples:

• refrigerated vehicle
• hazardous goods certification
• specific equipment

Example:
If a delivery requires a refrigerated vehicle, only vehicles with this skill will be considered.

Cost (if enabled):

If cost calculation is enabled in your settings, you can add:

• a cost per kilometer (€/km)

Edit a vehicle

You can edit a vehicle at any time.

Steps:

1. Go to Resources
2. Click on Vehicles
3. Click … next to the relevant vehicle
4. Select Edit
5. Make your changes
6. Click Save

⚠️ Good to know: You cannot delete a vehicle if it is already assigned to an agent
👉 You must first assign another vehicle to that agent
