AntsRoute enables you to calculate the cost of the routes by taking into account the hourly cost of each field worker and the cost per kilometre of the vehicles that you have defined. In order to display the cost of the routes on the interface, you must activate this option and define the hourly cost of each field worker and the cost per kilometre of each vehicle.
- 1. Activate the option for cost calculation.
- 2. Determine the cost per hour of field workers.
- 3. Determine the cost of vehicles.
- 4. Know the cost of your routes.
1. Activate the option for cost calculation
In order to access this feature, you must first activate the option by following the steps below:
- Go to the “Settings” module.
- Click on the “Settings” tab.
- Click on “General settings”.
- Enable “Activate calculation cost”.
- Click on the “Save” button.
2. Determine the cost per hour of field workers
Once you have activated the cost calculation option, you can set the cost per hour of your workers. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to the “Resources” module.
- Click on the “Field workers” tab.
- Start with the first worker by clicking on “…” and “Edit”.
- Click on “General information”.
- Determine the “Cost per hour (€/hr)”.
- Click on the “Save” button.
3. Determine the cost of vehicles
Once you have activated the cost calculation option, you can set the cost per kilometre of your vehicles. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to the “Resources” module.
- Click on the “Vehicles” tab.
- Start with the first vehicle by clicking on “…” and “Edit”.
- Determine the “Cost” of the vehicle.
- Click on the “Save” button.
💡 The cost of the vehicle is made up of a fixed cost and a cost per kilometre. If you do not want to enter a fixed cost, you can enter “0” in the fixed cost field.
4. Know the cost of your routes
Once you have activated the option, you have access to the “Total cost” indicator in the “Agenda” tab of the “Organize” module.
☝️ Good to know: To know the cost of one particular route, click on “...” > “Route's detail”.
💡 To get the total cost, AntsRoute adds up the cost of each route. The cost of a route = (number of kilometres travelled X cost per km of vehicle) + (working time X cost per hour of agent). The working time = driving time + actual working time on site + any waiting time.
☝️ Good to know: If, in addition to the function for calculating the cost of routes, you have activated the function for calculating the price of work orders, the “Turnover” indicator will be replaced by “Margin”.
