Automations allow you to automatically perform specific actions in AntsRoute based on your business rules. Simply define a trigger, add conditions if required, then choose the action to perform.
For example, you can automatically send an SMS reminder to a customer the day before a scheduled delivery, without any manual intervention.

Creating an automation
To create a new automation, click + Automation.
Let's take the example of an automation that sends an SMS reminder to a customer one day before a scheduled delivery.
Step 1: Enter the general information
Complete the following information:
- Automation name
- Description (optional but recommended). This helps other users on your AntsRoute account quickly understand the purpose of the automation.
- Status: Select Enabled so the automation can run.
Step 2: Configure the trigger
Define the event that will automatically launch the automation.
In our example:
- Object type: Delivery
- Date field: Scheduled date
- Execution timing: Before the date
- Offset: 1 day before
- Execution time: Choose the time when the SMS should be sent.
Step 3: Add conditions (optional)
If required, add one or more conditions to limit when the automation is executed.
For example, you can choose to trigger the action only for specific delivery types or according to criteria specific to your business.
Step 4: Configure the action
Define the action that will be carried out once the trigger and any conditions have been met.
In our example:
- Action type: Send a notification
- Notification template: Select the SMS template you want to send to your customers.
Once you have finished configuring the automation, click Save.
Your automation will now run automatically according to the settings you have defined.
Viewing the automation history
The History tab allows you to monitor executed automations and ensure they are running correctly.
For each execution, the following information is available:
- Execution date
- Automation name
- Trigger
- Result
- Number of processed items
💡 Good to know: You can filter the results to display only specific execution types.
- Click Filter.
- Configure the required filter.
- Click Apply.
You can filter the results by the following statuses:
- Success: All items were processed successfully.
- Partial success: Some items were processed successfully, while others failed.
- Failed: No items could be processed.
💡 Good to know: You can view the details of an execution to obtain more information about the outcome of an automation.
- Click the … menu next to the relevant execution.
- Select View.
A side panel opens, displaying details of the processed items.
You can also filter these items to display only those that failed.
For each failed item, the returned response is available. This helps identify the cause of the failure and makes it easier to resolve the issue.
Summary
Automations help you automate repetitive tasks and save time every day. Thanks to the execution history, you can also monitor that your automations are running correctly, quickly identify any errors, and take action whenever necessary.
