Introduction
Validation custom fields allow you to ask drivers to fill in certain information when they complete a job from the AntsRoute mobile application.
This information is then stored in AntsRoute and can be viewed by planners.
This feature is particularly useful for collecting field information directly from drivers.

Examples of use
Validation custom fields can be used to ask the driver to enter:
- a meter reading
- the condition of equipment
- a serial number
- a job comment
- the delivered quantity
- installation confirmation
This information is entered directly by the driver when validating the job.
Step 1: Create the custom fields
Before drivers can enter information when validating a job or delivery, you must first create the custom fields in the settings.
⚠️ To create a custom field, you must first create a category.

- Log in to your AntsRoute account.
- Open the Settings menu.
- Click Custom fields.
- Select the Validation of delivery tab.
This tab allows you to create fields that will be displayed when validating a job in the mobile application.
2. Create a Category
Categories allow you to organise custom fields.
To create a category:
- Click Create a category.

- Click Save.
Examples of categories:

- Choose the field type.
- Save.
Available Options
When creating the field, several options can be enabled:
- Required field: the driver must complete this field in order to validate the job.
-
Trigger (conditional field): you can define conditions so that this field is displayed only when certain information is entered. For example, a field may appear only if a specific type of job is selected.
☝️ To learn more about conditional fields, check out this article.
Step 2: Fill in the fields in the mobile application
When the driver completes a job or delivery, they must validate it in the mobile application.
If validation custom fields have been configured:
- The driver opens the job in the application.
- They select Complete this delivery.
- They complete the custom fields that appear.
- They click Next step and confirm the validation.
If a field is set as required, it must be completed to finalise the validation.
Where can you view the information entered by drivers?
The information entered by drivers is visible:
- in the job details
- in the job reports
- in data exports
Conclusion
Validation custom fields allow you to collect information directly from drivers at the end of a job or delivery.
They are particularly useful for:
- tracking operations carried out in the field
- recording technical information
- centralising job reports
