Introduction
Before you can use custom fields in AntsRoute, you must first create them in the settings.
Custom fields can be organised into categories in order to structure the information and make it easier to read.

- Open the Settings menu.
- Click on Custom fields.
Three tabs are available:
- Customer file
- Delivery
- Validation of a delivery
Each tab corresponds to where the fields will be used.
- Customer file ➡️ Custom fields related to the customer

- Validation of a delivery ➡️ Custom fields filled in by the driver when validating the delivery

☝️ Useful information:
1. Choosing the field type
Depending on the information you want to record, you can choose from different field types:
- Text: for free text information (e.g. gate code)
- Number: for numerical values
- Dropdown list: to offer several choices
- Date: to record a date
- Checkbox: for yes/no information
- Photo: to attach a photo
The field type should be chosen according to the information you want to collect.
2. Options available when creating a field
When creating a custom field, several options can be enabled depending on your needs:
- Mandatory field: the field must be completed in order to save the information.
- Indexed field: indexed fields can be searched using the global search to make it easier to find deliveries.
- Private field: the field will not be visible in the drivers’ mobile application.
Step 5: Organise the display order
You can change the order of the fields to improve the readability of the information.
To do this:
- Go to the list of fields in the category.
- Drag and drop the fields to change their position.
Conclusion
Custom fields allow you to adapt AntsRoute to your operational needs.
To create a custom field:
- select the relevant tab (Customer file, Delivery, or Validation of a delivery)
