The skills feature allows you to assign the right tasks to the right agents.
In practice, you can define the skills required for specific jobs and ensure they are handled by qualified personnel.
Before getting started
To use skills, you need to:
- Create your skills
- Assign them to your agents
- Use them when planning jobs
1. Create skills
Start by defining the skills used in your organization (e.g., Electricity, Gas, Installation…).
Steps to follow
- Go to the Settings module
- Open the Skills tab
- Enter the name of the skill
- Press Enter to confirm
💡 Good to know:
- You can edit a skill by double-clicking it
- You can delete a skill by clicking the cross on the right
2. Assign skills to agents
Once the skills are created, you can assign them to your agents.
Steps to follow
- Go to the Resources module
- Click on the Agents tab
- Click on … then Edit
- Open the General Information section
- Select the agent’s skills
- Click Save
💡 Tip:
You can access skill management directly from this tab by clicking the “Manage skills” button. You will then be redirected to the dedicated tab where you can create or edit your skills.
3. Use skills when planning
When creating a job, you can specify the required skills.
The job will automatically be assigned to an agent who has those skills.
Method 1: Add a job manually
- Go to Plan > Schedule deliveries
- Fill in the job details
- In the Skills field, select the required ones
Method 2: Import jobs
You can also define skills via an import file.
How does it work?
- Add a column to your file:
- Format: Comp_SkillName
- Example: Comp_Gas
- Indicate:
- YES if the skill is required
- NO if it is not
Advanced cases: Add temporary skills
Additional skills allow you to assign a skill only for a specific period (e.g., replacement, specific mission).
Steps to follow
- Go to Resources
- Click on the Agents tab
- Open an agent’s profile via … > Edit
- Go to the Working hours, locations and skills tab
- Select a week
- Add additional skills
- Click Save
💡 Good to know:
- Save: applies only to the selected week
- Save and set as default: applies to all following weeks
Advanced cases: Set default skills for a client
If certain jobs always require the same skills for a specific client, you can save them directly in the client profile.
Steps to follow
- Go to the Customers module
- Search for a client
- Open the client profile
- Select the required skills
- Click Save
These skills will be automatically added when planning jobs.
Best practices
- Use simple and clear skill names
- Avoid duplicates (e.g., “Gas” and “Gas installation”)
- Assign only skills that agents truly have
- Use skills to improve route optimization
Summary
Skills allow you to:
- Assign the right tasks to the right agents
- Save time when planning
- Avoid assignment errors
Proper skill configuration directly improves the efficiency of your field operations.
