Agents' working hours are taken into account when creating routes.
Properly configured working hours help prevent scheduling errors and automatically optimize travel times.
In this article, we explain how to set up or modify an agent’s working hours in just a few simple steps.
Step 1: Access the Agent's Profile
- Go to the Resources module.
- Click on the Agents tab.
- Find the relevant agent, click on … > Edit.
You will then access the agent’s profile page.
Step 2: Set Working Hours
- Click on the Working hours, locations and skills section.
- Select the relevant week using the date selector.
- For a specific day, activate the toggle (Add working hours).
- Enter a time range:
- Start time
- End time
Repeat this process for each working day.
Step 3: Add a Break
- Click on the + icon (Add a break).
- Enter the following information:
- Break duration
- Break start time
💡 The break will automatically be taken into account when building routes.
Step 4: Configure the Start and End Location (if needed)
You can define where the agent starts and ends their day:
- Warehouse: the agent starts and ends their route at the selected warehouse.
- Specific location: you can define a specific address.
- None: no travel time is calculated before the first job or after the last job.
This setting is important because it impacts travel time calculations.
Step 5: Add Additional Skills
If you are using the Skills feature provided by AntsRoute, you can also define additional skills from the Working hours, locations and skills section.
Additional skills correspond to skills that your agents have on a temporary basis.
They can be defined:
- for specific days of the week
- or for specific dates
These skills complement the agent’s default skills, which are already defined in their profile.
In practical terms, this allows you to:
- assign an agent to a specific task only on certain days
- manage temporary certifications or authorizations
- plan occasional reinforcements for specific skills
Step 6: Save the Working Hours
Two options are available:
- Click on Save and set as default
→ The working hours will apply to the selected week and future weeks. - Click on Save
→ The working hours will apply only to the selected week.
☝️ Good to know:
- The working hours defined here are automatically used when building routes.
- To delete a time range for a specific day, simply deactivate the toggle next to the relevant time slot.
- To delete a break, click the Delete icon next to the relevant break.

- Avoid unrealistic routes
- Respect agents’ availability
